[`mɔdɪŋ]( modify «модифицировать, изменять»)комп мóддинг. ▫ Модификация комп. комплектующих. Может производиться для улучшения параметров аппаратного обеспечения ( Hardware) (т.н. разгона), но основная цель М. — попытка самовыражения и получение эстетического удовлетворения от любимой вещи. Мода на М. зародилась на Западе. У зап. моддеров ( Modder) принято собираться вместе и демонстрировать друг другу свои модифицированные компьютеры. В Интернете имеется ряд моддинг-сайтов и Интернет-магазинов, посвящённых М., в которых продаются неонки для ПК, наборы для водяного охлаждения, решётки для вентиляторов ( Laser-Cut Grills), готовые фэнбасы ( Fanbus) и бэйбасы ( Baybus), модифицированные корпуса и пр. Самый распространённый объект М. — корпус компьютера. В нём, напр., прорезают дремелем ( Dremel) отверстия для доп. вентиляторов, кот. обычно устанавливают на задней стенке, в верхней плоскости корпуса и в передней панели. Кроме того, устанавливают в боковой панели окно из плексигласа. Для подсветки корпуса используют неонку, в результате чего аппарат подсвечивается голубым светом, и т.д.
